Our own medical service, 365 days a year

We have our own professional medical service, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Its aim is to offer complete and specialised care in every field our residents need.

The quality of our medical team, our resources and our excellent relationship with the clinics and hospitals nearby allow us to reduce not only the number of hospital admissions but also the length of stay.

Nurses 24 hours a day

We consider it vital to have registered nurses on duty 24 hours a day. Working closely with the doctor, they help us avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. Their work includes:

• Intravenous treatments
• Placing or changing catheters and tubes
• Stitches
• Simple and complex wound care, with special experience in ulcers
• Stoma and tracheostomy care
• Blood samples, capillary or intravenous
• Electrocardiograms

The care plan, with the family

We always consider both the resident and the family, so we organise meetings with residents and their families to set the care plan for each case.

Therapy and support

• Individual physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, for maximum independence in the shortest possible time
• Occupational therapy: workshops, games, a choir, parties and outings at least once a week
• Psychology, to prevent or reduce the risk of psychosocial decline
• The social worker, the link between the resident and the world around them: the family, town councils, health services and hospitals
• Qualified care assistants who receive continuous training to meet our residents’ needs

Accompanied when they go out

Our staff go with residents so they are never alone when they have to leave the centre: to scheduled appointments, and to emergency hospital admissions between 8:00 and 20:00. For transfers we have a fleet of adapted vehicles with anchorages and seat belts, and professional drivers.

Help always within reach

Every resident has a personal alarm, worn as a pendant: press the button and the system shows where they are, anywhere on the grounds.
